When is Camp?

RAYEC takes place annually in August in Cypress Hills, Alberta.

How do I apply for Camp?

Each year, youth from Southern Alberta between the ages of 13 and 15 compete to attend camp through our online application process. Each applicant will answer four (4) questions that will help us decide to accept the applicant into RAYEC. Only 60 youths are selected to attend each year.

How do I get to and from Camp?

For those youth who need transportation to RAYEC, a chartered bus is rented to pick up and transport the youth directly to Eagles Nest Ranch. All campers are responsible for their own transportation home on the last day of camp, Business Day (See Map). Youth are encouraged to invite their families for Business Day.

What if I have allergies or dietary requirements?

Special consideration is given to those individuals with food allergies, and alternate menu items will be available to accommodate their needs.

What should I bring to Camp?

Accepted campers will be sent a Welcome Package containing a full list of suggested items to bring to camp. Weather can be unpredictable in the Cypress Hills so campers are encouraged to be prepared for variable weather conditions.

What if I have a disability?

Eagles Nest Ranch is fully equipped to handle campers with physical disabilities. Please contact the RAYEC Camp Manager at (403) 981-1251.

Can I get school credits?

Participants of RAYEC may apply for additional school credits following completion of the program. Each camper will receive a certificate of completion, along with their completed campers manual and evaluation, which must be submitted to their school for review. It is at the discretion of each individual school as to whether the student will qualify for outside-school credits.
