Opportunity to Meet the Man Behind The Tour of Valour

From Garry McCracken to District 5360 Members:
On 21 May 2026, my 75th birthday, I’ll begin a journey that will test endurance, honour service and celebrate resilience.
I’ll set out on a 2,500-kilometre, fully unsupported bicycle ride from Vancouver to Winnipeg — a ride with purpose at every turn.
The Road To Valour is grounded by three commitments:
  1. Supporting the mental health of veterans, first responders, and their families through Wounded Warriors Canada.
  2. Sharing and preserving Canada’s military history, honouring the sacrifices and achievements that shaped our nation.
  3. Promoting healthy aging, proving that age is no barrier to challenge, growth, or adventure.
This is a ride for courage, for remembrance and for hope.
While I would have preferred to align my route with club meeting dates, unfortunately that has not been possible. When my visit coincides with a club meeting, I would be pleased to speak about the purpose of this project and the impact I hope it will have on our communities and those who serve.  When that isn’t possible, I would welcome the opportunity to meet for a coffee and share more about the project with any interested Rotarians.
