Apparently, membership really does have its privileges.
At this year’s Zone Conference, District 5360 was recognized with a new award — and I was fortunate enough to bring a little hardware home on behalf of all of you.
We’ll let the award have its moment in the spotlight, but what interests me even more is the story behind it.
At some point, someone identified a goal, decided it mattered, wrote it down and started working toward it. Then clubs and Rotarians across our District did the work that turned that goal into a result.
There is a lesson in that as we begin developing our club and District Action Plans for the year ahead: goals matter. Writing them down matters. Measuring them matters. And then doing something about them really matters.
An award isn't the reason we do the work. But sometimes it is a pretty nice reminder that intentional effort produces results.
Congratulations, District 5360. This one belongs to all of us.
