Earlier this month, our District Leadership Team came together and started building the District 5360 Action Plan for 2026–27 and beyond.
And “beyond” is important.
We're deliberately taking a three-year horizon. Rather than asking only what we want to accomplish this year, we're asking what kind of District we need to build to help our clubs succeed over the next three years.
Our starting point is simple: the District exists to help clubs achieve their goals and aspirations.
That means listening differently, organizing ourselves differently and making sure the people, tools and resources of the District are connected to what clubs actually need.
It also means we need leaders.
I've described Rotary this year as a Leadership Laboratory, a place where people can practise leadership, test ideas, build skills and make a difference. That laboratory doesn't exist only inside our clubs. There are opportunities across District 5360 for people to step forward, apply their experience and take on broader roles.
And what a talent pool we have.
There are more than 1,600 People of Action across District 5360. Business leaders. Community builders. Professionals. Entrepreneurs. Volunteers. Problem-solvers. People with decades of Rotary experience and people who are just beginning their Rotary journey.
Not everyone will want a District role. But everyone should have the opportunity to contribute to shaping our future if they choose to accept the challenge.
District 5360 has developed a reputation for leadership within the Rotary world. Continuing down that path means continually developing the next group of people who will challenge our thinking, bring new ideas to the table and eventually take their turn leading.
The Leadership Laboratory is open. Who's ready to experiment?
