And the fun continues! Alessandro in Airdrie

New Generations Exchange Student Alessandro

Alessandro hails from Germany. He is enjoying a fabulous New Generations Service Exchange Program in our District.
After just over two weeks in Lethbridge, he headed to Airdrie where he has spent the past week.
Jayden Backs (RC of Airdrie) and his family, including his lovely young sons and wife, have had much fun with Alessandro.
 
They treated him to a visit to the internationally renowned Royal Tyrrell Museum, and he returned from Drumheller to the Backs’ farm on a little ferry. Jayden also took him to a meeting of Rotary Youth Exchange students from all around the globe. Another highlight was a visit to a Western Wear store outside of Crossfield called Irvine’s—the biggest in Canada!
 
 
Back on the farm, the fun has included riding a quad and playing hockey with the young ones!
 
 
The vocational side has been great, what with Alessandro having set his sights on medical studies. Dr. Darren Presley (son of Rotarian Glen Presley, RC of Medicine Hat) welcomed Alessandro into his clinic in Airdrie, allowing him to shadow, see how the clinic helps sports people, and develop his understanding of anatomy, focusing on different bones and joints.

Alessandro is now in Calgary for the final leg of his exchange. He is in the home and care of Brian Carnahan and Christine Rendell and has a great program lined up until he finishes the NGSE program on Monday, 24 June.
