Foundation month, it’s time!
Our District Needs you!
Interact initiative!
Be a SHARK leader!

There is a reason you are reading this, and I am going to tell you.
I need you to pick up the phone, and answer the call to help to make our District vibrant, connected and well supported.  There are a couple of ways that you can help.  It’s as easy as ….

1.  It is Foundation month so consider making Rotary your Charity of Choice.  Start a monthly giving plan and feel good about the work of our Rotary Foundation here and around the world.

Please help me to recognize Brian Carnahan and Christine Rendell, and Victor and Thelma Maris as they have recently become Arch Klumph Society members.  Your leadership and generosity to the Rotary Foundation is admired and so very much appreciated.  Our very sincere thanks!

2.  Our District needs you to come and take on a new role.  Say YES to a new Leadership Opportunity beginning for you, and a way to learn more about our District.  Martin Parnell has listed a number of key roles that we are looking to fill including:
  • Annual Fund Endowment/Major Gifts Subcommittee Chair,
  • Grant Audit Committee (2 members),
  • Foundation Stewardship Subcommittee member,
  • Interact Area Reps for Lethbridge and Medicine Hat, 1 in each community,
  • RAYEC Committee member,
  • Youth Services Chair for 2021-2022,
Read up on what is required in the fifty 360 Events Digest, and email Martin Parnell, DGE for more information.  On a serious note, the District is the members, and perhaps now is the time for you to consider this opportunity to join others, learn and make your voice heard at District. Consider this a TAP on your SHOULDER😊

3. Interact month is also November, and Western Canada High school is leading the way with a very awesome fundraiser.  They have designed a Rotary pin and will have them available to purchase.  Proceeds from the sales of these pins will be split between the Foothills Hospital in their work with the COVID-19 pandemic, and the End Polio Now campaign.  Email Tony Li, at the Western Canada High School Interact Club and help support this worthy Rotary Interact Initiative.

4. Be a SHARK leader by spreading SMALL, HOMEMADE ACTS of ROTARY KINDNESS.  We all need to be sharks more now than ever.  Read the weekly fifty 360 Events Digest, there are lots of ways to support each others’ clubs.  Club innovation through fundraisers is on the rise!  Let’s support each other😊  Watch the Upcoming Events list of numerous activities, webinars and online meetings to learn more about our programs and plans.  Invite a friend to Rotary, and share your passion with others.

5. Try this well-known investment strategy, imagine a bank account which has $86,400 deposited every morning, at the end of the day anything remaining is cancelled.  Most of us would draw this money out by midday every day, right?  Well, we all have this account and in it is 86,400 seconds every day of TIME to spend.  It is replenished every morning.  If you fail to use the day’s deposits the loss is yours, you cannot draw against tomorrow.  You must live in the present on today’s deposits.  Invest wisely so to get the utmost in health, happiness and success!  The clock is running.  Make it count, today and every day.  (With thanks for this message from Fran Hochhausen.  Rotary Club of Heritage Park).

What will you do with your time?  Pick up the phone, open up an email and lend a hand to create a lasting impact through your Rotary membership!  Do it now, time is flying by…

Thank you, because, “together is a wonderful place to be.” Winnie the Pooh.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Mary
