Please join the Rotary Club of Calgary Chinook on Thursday February 20th from 5:30 - 7:00(ish) at Limericks Pub for our February Rotary networking meeting.
As always all guests are welcome to share a business or Rotary update. Please bring any potential new members or business contacts as you do not need to be a member to attend. This is a great way to meet other Rotarians, tip a pint and make a business connection.
I am excited to announce our guest speaker is Manon Mitchell from The Rotary Club of Calgary. She will be introducing us to Palladio Music and the Rotarian Connection! Palladio Music is a duet team who perform throughout Calgary for a variety of functions. Discover the best kept musical secret behind Palladio Music, The Calgary Civic Symphony.
If we have at least 15 in attendance she will perform on her violin for us!!
Please let me know if you can make it and if you have any guests to bring.
Wednesday, March 4th during the week of International Women's Day
This race celebrates our right to be free to run. We're inviting everyone to come together in solidarity supporting the right all humans should have to walk or run free of fear in their community.
Western Canada High School’s Interact Club has a simple motto: Inspire. Involve. Interact. As a daughter club of Rotary International (District 5360 - Downtown Calgary), we aim to provide humanitarian services at a local and international perspective. Our club has a substantial amount of students involved, with 55 dedicated and passionate members.
We will be donating 100% of the funds raised to the Calgary Rotary Flames House, a pediatric hospice partnered with the Alberta Children’s Hospital that offers rest and renewal for families dealing with the demands of caring for children with medically complex and incurable illness. Through collaboration with local artists, The Marcus Trummer Band, Yvette, and Matt Blais, we aim to fundraise for young patients in palliative care and help fund the research and development taking place at the hospital.
Harmonies for Health will also include a silent auction to raise more funds! All proceeds will go directly towards the palliative care center to help make the young patients’ lives more comfortable. If you or someone you know is able to donate an item from their business or home that we would be able to auction off at the event, please let me know! This would be an immense help to us.
We would be honoured if you would be able to attend our concert. Tickets are available online via Eventbrite for $10 each, plus a small service fee. We would appreciate it if you could share this link and help our club spread the word about our event! If you are unable to attend the event or would like to donate more to our cause, our event has a donation page set up through the Alberta Children’s Hospital. I have attached the links to both pages below:
We hope you will be able to join us for a night of entertainment in support of the Calgary Rotary Flames House. If you have any questions, please feel free to email back!
Kindest regards,
Charvi Shah
Western Canada High School Interact Club - President
Come celebrate the Leap Year with us and support a great cause!
Homes of Hope, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Canmore is hosting a 60 minute Hatha Yoga class in the beautiful Canmore Opera House at 400 Spring Creek Drive on February 29th, 2020, 3 - 6pm
This class is suitable for all levels, and pose modifications will also be offered. If you’ve never tried yoga, or you’re a seasoned yogi, this is the class to leap into! The afternoon also includes a silent auction filled with great items, funded by local individuals and businesses.
All proceeds from ticket sales and the silent auction go to support building homes for impoverished, hard-working families in Mexico. Homes of Hope has been in operation for over 16 years, and their good work continues to impact families and participants alike.
Any support is greatly appreciated. If you cannot make the event, direct donations are also accepted online at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/44735 (Note: donations over $20 will receive a tax receipt.)
Thank you for caring enough to help us make a huge difference in the quality of life for needy families.
