“Get excited because the Interact Clubs at Western Canada and Sir Winston Churchill high schools in Calgary have been collaborating on a fundraising event!!
If you donate more than $7 to Polio and COVID-19, you will receive a beautifully designed pin. The money raised will go specifically to Rotary International’s End Polio Now campaign and the Calgary Foothills Medical Center.
If you’re interested, order the pins through our online order form, and we will reach out to you then to work out details for delivery. Please support us — it’s for a wonderful cause!
The pin that we have created is a symbol of our unity and hope in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Polio disease. Flowers tend to represent spring, which reflects our hope of new beginnings as the world comes together in an effort to end the global crisis. Each flower held by the hands is a contribution to the coming of spring and new hope out of the long winter that was created by the pandemic. The flowers vary in colours and sizes, representing both the small and large services that have been made towards the cause; each is a valuable part of the bouquet and symbolizes how every contribution to this pandemic takes us one step closer to ending it. We are high school students, limited in the scope of what we can contribute, but the pin reflects our desire to come together and serve a cause much greater than ourselves. As we are two different clubs coming together, the two hands represent us respectively on the pin, while the golden Rotary emblem at the bottom symbolizes how this union is only made possible with the foundation of support we receive from the Rotary club today.
, Stems is honoured to be a part of a fundraiser to benefit TEAM ALEX this holiday season.
In support, we have designed a unique 'Rotary Wreath' available in 3 different sizes. 20% of each of these wreaths will go back to TEAM ALEX and their dedication to education and help surrounding suicide.
2020 has been a challenging year for many, and these obstacles do not discriminate, with the potential for major effects on youth's mental health.
Calgary Downtown Christmas Hamper committee are encouraging any Rotarians to reach out on an individual basis if they would be interested in adopting a family or two.
This year we are targeting 100 families with 75 of them recommended by school principals and 25 of them coming from our Stay In School program.
To cover the costs, the committee looks for cheques for $250 each to raise the $50,000 needed to cover 100 families.
(*Many who adopt a family go above the budgeted amounts out of their own pocket, which is perfectly fine, but not expected.)
When you get assigned a family, you will receive a list of the names of the family members, the kids" wish lists", and other details that the schools tend to send along. You will then go shopping, gift wrapping and delivering (which is the fun part!)
Please circulate to your members this year, and if interested I will put you in touch with the lead contact person to indicate your interest!
Take the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Survey for your club!
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee is committed to helping our district through education, understanding, and support in creating inviting communities to all cultures, experiences, and identities through our Rotary clubs.
Participating in optional surveys or providing feedback helps District 5360 better to serve our clubs.
Our hope is this survey will help our committee better understand the current climate and needs of each club as it relates to diversity, equity, and inclusion experience, training, and opportunities to further our mission of Rotary’s global vision.

Planning is well underway for the 24th annual Rotary Alberta Youth Entrepreneurship Camp. RAYEC 2021 will be held August 8 to 14 at Eagles Nest Ranch. RAYEC is a business camp for youth aged 13-15.
The camp would not be possible without the financial support of the clubs of Rotary District 5360. Sponsoring a camper/youth leader for the week is $1000.00.
All camp applications are processed centrally. Clubs are not responsible for finding a youth, however, they can encourage youth in their areas to apply.
