Join us for an unforgettable evening with MC Doug Webb as he introduces our special speaker, Ramesh Ferris. You’ll feel completely inspired as he shares his powerful and inspiring polio story.

Ramesh is the current District Governor for District 5370 (just to the north of us) and has spoken around the world advocating for the Global Polio Eradication Initiative and Rotary’s contribution to make this happen. Ramesh as even cycled across Canada (https://www.rotary.org/en/international-athletes-speak-out-about-polio) to raise funds for our Polio initiative.
You’ll be well informed about the current Polio campaign, including all the activities required to see this project across the finish line. Mike McGovern, Rotary International’s Polio Chair, will share this information.

🍻 Yes, we’ll be serving Iron Lung Ale — and if you’re wondering what an iron lung is, you’ll get the chance to see (and even experience) one up close!
🌍 Our District currently has 54 Polio Plus Society members, each pledging $100 annually to the Global Polio Eradication Program. This year, we’re aiming to double that number to 108—and you could be the one to help us keep Rotary’s 1988 promise to the children of the world: a future free of polio. By the way, this is also a DISTRICT COMPETITION! Let’s rally together and reach the finish line in the lead!
🎶 To set the tone, Rotarian William Friedson and his jazz quintet will keep the music flowing all night.
🫶 This event is open to all, so bring your family and friends.

💰 In 1955, more than 10 million children received one or more injections of the Salk vaccine. Within one year, polio cases and deaths in the United States had been nearly halved, a trend that continued and made a vision of polio eradication a possibility.
