Ayca in Germany

1st  photo - BergBear and I at the Erlangen Berg (in traditional clothes of course!!)
At the beginning of the month, I set off to begin my New Generations Service Exchange (NGSE) in Nuremberg, Germany, and I’ve been absolutely loving the experience!
2nd photo - world famous Nuremberg sausage
I’ve been fortunate to have gained my vocational experience at Bühler Motor, where I spent my first two weeks in the Sales and Marketing Department. There, I gained a thorough understanding of the automotive industry, Bühler’s product portfolio, and its strategic marketing strategies.

By experiencing the day-to-day activities of the workplace, I also witnessed firsthand the impact of China’s rare-earth magnet export controls and US tariffs, not just on Bühler but on nearly all players in the automotive world. I participated in meetings with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier 1 Customers, and also created Market Information reports for the company.

Additionally, I completed a research project on a business development opportunity, which I presented to the team on my last day. I’m sad to say goodbye to the S&M team but am looking forward to starting my next experience in the Advanced Engineering department!
3rd photo - view from on top of Brecherspitz

Outside of work, my amazing host family has taken me around Nuremberg and Bavaria on the weekends, and it has been so lovely! In addition to visiting the churches and castles in the city, we also visited their family home in Schliersee and hiked the nearby Brecherspitz mountains.

I got to try classic Bavarian food in a chalet in Tegernsee, the world-famous Nuremberg sausage and red beer at Bratwursthausle, and I just recently went to Erlangen Bergkirchweih too and had an amazing time taking in the environment there. Looking forward to the rest of my NGSE experience!
