RYPEN is a Rotary sponsored Dist. Youth Service Program. Students from 13 to 17 from across the District attend a week long camp designed to develop potential through a mixture of lecture style sessions & adventure-based learning. The aim is to communicate a series of ideas, problems & social experiences which assist them in forming their own values & moral standards. A program of thought provoking speakers, social situations and personal challenges is offered. RYLA is a leadership development program run by Rotary. Most events focus on secondary school students, university students or young professionals. RYLA events are 3-10 days long and include presentations, activities & workshops that cover topics including: leadership fundamentals & ethics, communication skills, problem solving & conflict management community & global citizenship. This committee is responsible for promoting, recruiting and selecting participants for each of these youth programs.
