FRIENDS OF ROTARY

During our club visitations Ann and I heard that clubs have people associated with them, that we could call “Friends of Rotary”.  These are people who join in with the Club when it needs extra person power to get a job done.  Since there are many hands-on projects throughout the District, there is a need for helpers because often the Club can’t do it with their members alone.

How Can We Help Our Young People Sort Out Their Careers?

CAREER PLANNING WITH 12 – 20 YEARS OLDS IS VITAL, yet often not carried out.  Often parents, who previously were job and role models for their children, as doctors, lawyers,  accountants, farmers, carpenters and business people, find that their children are not interested in these traditional professions.  They want to become web designers, techies of one kind or another, or go into specialty services areas - unknown occupations to their parents.

What Do We Think When We Give

“They” are after our money.  There are so many causes, appeals, world emergencies, and desperate people that sometimes we feel numb to, or maybe supersensitive to the need.  Too many organizations depend on our donations.
The Rotary Foundation and Polio campaigns are important causes for Rotarians. Our funds are helping eliminate polio world-wide, and ensure the success of local Rotary projects and the major Global projects.  But we also compete with ourselves, by adding other local Rotary needs such as for the local food bank, special youth causes, a local park, a unique international project  and the list goes on and on.
